1. Junior Research Associate
Overview
The Junior Research Associate will work at the PBRC, supporting advanced research in molecular biology and biochemistry to develop genetically enhanced crops resistant to biotic and abiotic stresses.
Qualifications
Education
M.Sc. in any Life Science discipline, with a preference for Biotechnology.
Experience
0–2 years in a research laboratory setting, including internships or academic projects.
Skills
- Sound theoretical knowledge of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
- Hands-on experience in techniques such as PCR, RT-PCR, cloning, Southern blot, Northern blot, Western blot, and ELISA.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality output.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset as a team player.
Job Role
- Conduct experiments in molecular breeding, transgenics, and genomics to support crop improvement projects.
- Perform DNA/RNA extraction, gene cloning, and protein analysis using techniques like PCR and Western blot.
- Assist in developing insect-resistant and stress-tolerant hybrids, such as Bt Cotton varieties.
- Document findings and contribute to research publications or presentations.
2. Research Assistant
Overview
The Research Assistant will provide support to the research team at PBRC, assisting in laboratory and field activities to advance Ajeet Seeds’ hybrid development programs.
Qualifications
Education
B.Sc. in any Life Science discipline (e.g., Biology, Botany, Biotechnology).
Experience
0–2 years of relevant experience, including internships or academic projects. Freshers are welcome.
Skills
- Sound theoretical knowledge of Biology and basic laboratory practices.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain accuracy in tasks.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach as a team player.
Job Role
- Assist in field trials and germplasm maintenance across Ajeet Seeds’ 600-acre research farms.
- Support laboratory tasks such as sample preparation, data recording, and basic testing.
- Collaborate with scientists in multi-location testing across India’s agro-climatic zones.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to research protocols.
