Job Role: Medical Coding Analyst
We are seeking skilled Medical Coding Analysts to join our Chennai team. Below are the details of the role:
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate
- Certifications: CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC (valid certification ID required during interview/offer)
- Experience: Fresher or 7+ months in medical coding
Required Skills:
- Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with AMA, AHA, and CMS guidelines
- Understanding of NCCI edits, LCD, and NCD coverage determinations
- Knowledge of system security and HIPAA compliance
Key Responsibilities
- Implement updates from AMA, AHA, and CMS guidelines.
- Review medical records and assign/modify CPT codes for minor surgical procedures, vaccines, and laboratory services.
- Extract and code screening CPT and HCPCS codes from documentation.
- Check NCCI edits and modify ICD-10-CM codes, CPT codes, and modifiers as needed.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet regulatory and client deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA policies.
- Collaborate as a team player, providing inputs to improve quality and productivity.
- Adhere to company policies, including potential changes in work location, shifts, or alternative work arrangements.
