Position Overview
As Head of Medical Affairs, you will lead and shape Abbott’s medical strategy in Thailand. This strategic role involves overseeing clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and serving as a scientific advisor to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Operations:Â Plan, execute, and oversee all clinical trials (including regulatory applications, ethics committee submissions, site selection, monitoring, analysis, and final reporting).
- Medical Affairs Leadership:Â Supervise Medical Information activities and provide expert input to commercial strategies and pipeline development.
- Compliance Management: Approve and monitor promotional materials and activities in line with Abbott’s global standards and Thai regulations.
- Relationship Management:Â Coordinate with internal departments, engage investigators, and communicate with global and corporate stakeholders.
- Innovative Oversight:Â Support Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS) and foster a culture of scientific innovation.
- Bridge Between Science and Commercialization:Â Translate clinical data into actionable insights for business and marketing teams.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:Â Degree in a scientific field. A Pharmacist background is highly preferred.
- Experience:Â Minimum 10 years of experience in Clinical Research (CR) and/or Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Thailand’s clinical research regulations and medical information governance.
- Communication Skills:Â Advanced proficiency in medical terminology and the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences in English (Thai preferred).
- Leadership:Â Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary medical or clinical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, or related life sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD, etc.).
- Prior experience at a multinational pharmaceutical company.
- Experience with GCP/GLP compliance and investigator-initiated studies.
