Medical Coder / Senior Medical Coder – IP DRG
- Department: Revenue Cycle Management
- Market: Inpatient healthcare coding (MS-DRG/APR-DRG)
- Role: Review records, assign codes, and ensure claim accuracy per guidelines
- Experience: 1 to 7+ years in IP DRG coding
- Education/Qualification: Graduate/Postgraduate; active CCS or CIC certification
Skills/Qualifications
- Strong command of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, POA indicators, and DRG/APR application
- Excellent verbal and written communication for stakeholder interactions
- Ability to work independently and adapt to evolving business needs
- Familiarity with 3M coding, Optum, CAC, or abstracting software (advantageous)
- Commitment to HIPAA/PHI compliance and ethical coding practices
