Job Description

This apprenticeship programme combines paid on-the-job training at GSK’s Tuas vaccines manufacturing facility with part-time studies towards a nationally recognised Diploma in Applied Science (Pharmaceutical Sciences) at Republic Polytechnic.

Apprentices will learn to operate and maintain equipment and utility systems that support vaccine production while developing technical skills in a GMP-regulated environment. The programme also awards a Work-Study Diploma certificate certifying occupational proficiency.

What You Will Do

  • Learn and apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety requirements
  • Support day-to-day process operations and ensure reliable production
  • Get trained and qualified on procedures, computer applications, and record-keeping
  • Participate in routine preventive maintenance activities
  • Get involved in project work and cross-department coordination
  • Ensure quality, safety, and accuracy in all tasks
  • Contribute to supply and operations continuity

Skills/Qualifications

  • Fresh graduates with NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related fields
  • Must have graduated or completed National Service within the last 3 years
  • Written and spoken fluency in English
  • Willingness to enrol and meet entry requirements for the Diploma in Applied Science (Pharmaceutical Sciences) at Republic Polytechnic
  • Ability to commute daily to the Tuas site and to polytechnic classes when required
  • Strong interest in science, engineering, and biopharma manufacturing
  • Motivated, safety-conscious, and eager to learn
