The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, invites talented students to apply for the i3c BRIC-RCB Ph.D. Programme in Biosciences (2025-2026).
This interdisciplinary program, in collaboration with BRIC, RCB, ICGEB, THSTI, NIAB, NCCS, and other iBRIC institutions, offers a unique opportunity to pursue cutting-edge research in biosciences. Program Overview
The i3c BRIC-RCB Ph.D. Programme in Biosciences is designed to foster innovation and interdisciplinary research, offering two tracks for aspiring Ph.D. scholars.
Who Can Apply
Biological Sciences:
- Bachelors: B.E., B.Tech., M.B.B.S., or 4-Year BS
- Masters: M.Sc., M.Tech., M.VSc., M.Pharm., Integrated M.Sc./M.Tech.
Non-Biological Sciences:
- Bachelors: B.Tech., B.E.
Eligibility Note: Candidates must meet academic requirements and hold a valid fellowship (see below).
Fellowships
Duration: 5-year fellowship tenable at iBRICs, RCB, or ICGEB
Track I: National Fellowships (Up to 70 Students)
- Qualifying Exams: DBT-BET, CSIR-UGC-NET, ICMR-JRF
- Emoluments: As per funding agency norms
Track II: G.N. Ramachandran Fellowship (Up to 10 Students)
- Target: Engineering (B.Tech./B.E.) and Medicine (M.B.B.S.) graduates
- Emoluments:
- JRF (Years 1-2): INR 43,000/month + HRA
- SRF (Years 3-5): INR 50,000/month + HRA
- Contingency: INR 1,00,000 per annum
