Job Description

The Position

The Manager/Senior Manager – Pharmacovigilance will lead pharmacovigilance activities across India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. Based in Gurgaon, this role involves managing safety data, overseeing adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting, and mentoring a team of professionals to maintain the highest standards of drug safety in a multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee pharmacovigilance activities to ensure compliance with local (e.g., DCGI) and international (e.g., ICH, GVP) regulations.
  • Manage the collection, assessment, and reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and other safety data.
  • Develop and implement pharmacovigilance processes and procedures to streamline operations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of pharmacovigilance professionals, fostering growth and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (clinical, regulatory, quality assurance) to support drug safety initiatives.
  • Prepare and submit Periodic Safety Update Reports (PSURs) and other regulatory documents on time.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans to mitigate safety concerns.
  • Stay updated on the latest pharmacovigilance regulations and guidelines across the region.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., CDSCO, DGDA) and external stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field is required. An advanced degree (e.g., M.Pharm, MD, Ph.D.) is preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 5–7 years in pharmacovigilance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. In-depth experience with pharmacovigilance regulations in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka is essential.

Skills

Strong leadership and team management abilities to guide a diverse team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a multicultural setting. Proficiency in pharmacovigilance databases and software (e.g., Argus, ARISg).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing pharmacovigilance activities across multiple countries. Certification in pharmacovigilance or related fields (e.g., EudraVigilance, GVP training). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
