Your Role as a Medical Coder
As a Medical Coder, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare operations. You will be responsible for accurately translating medical diagnoses and procedures into universal codes for billing and insurance purposes. Your attention to detail will ensure compliance with all industry regulations and guidelines, contributing to the efficiency of our healthcare services.

What You’ll Do
- Review and analyze patient medical records to assign the appropriate codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all coded data to facilitate smooth billing processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and obtain any necessary additional information.
- Stay current with the latest coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Assist in resolving coding discrepancies and addressing insurance claim denials.
- Participate in regular audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
- A certification as a Medical Coder (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred.
