Job Description for Quality Control (API) Roles
Qualifications
- M.Sc or B.Sc in Chemistry from a recognized university.
- Strong academic background in analytical or organic chemistry.
Experience
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Quality Control within API manufacturing, preferably in Oncology or Non-Oncology facilities.
- Experience in USFDA, EU GMP, or WHO GMP-regulated plants is highly desirable.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting analytical instruments:
- HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography)
- GC (Gas Chromatography)
- Karl Fischer (KF) titration
- Potentiometry
- Particle Size Distribution (PSD) analysis using Malvern
- Expertise in wet analysis techniques for raw materials, intermediates, and APIs.
- Competence in calibrations of analytical instruments and pH measurements.
- Strong knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Familiarity with analytical method validation, stability studies, and QMS activities (e.g., OOS, OOT, deviations).
- Experience with software like Empower, Chromeleon, or Tiamo for instrument data management.
- Good documentation skills for maintaining GLP-compliant records.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality control testing of raw materials, intermediates, and APIs using HPLC, GC, KF, Potentiometry, and Malvern PSD analysis.
- Conduct wet analysis and pH measurements to ensure product quality.
- Execute instrument calibrations and maintain equipment in compliance with GMP standards.
- Support stability studies, analytical method validation, and method transfer activities.
- Investigate Out-of-Specification (OOS), Out-of-Trend (OOT), and laboratory incidents, preparing CAPA reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory audits and ensure compliance with USFDA, EU GMP, and ICH guidelines.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Production teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in QC processes and laboratory efficiency.
