Job Description: Drug Safety Associate (Pharmacovigilance Officer I)
As a Drug Safety Associate, you will play a crucial role in the pharmacovigilance process. Your attention to detail and analytical skills will ensure the accurate and timely handling of patient safety data, contributing to the overall safety of pharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Confirm the validity of cases by identifying the minimum criteria for case creation.
- Perform duplicate searches to accurately create initial or follow-up cases.
- Identify serious adverse events (SAEs) and special scenario cases.
- Manage cases involving lack of efficacy, exposure, pregnancy, and product quality complaints.
- Attach all relevant source documents and safety information to each case.
- Facilitate follow-up actions based on queries or inconsistent information.
- Code adverse events, medical history, and lab data using standardized terminology from medical dictionaries like MedDRA.
- Code suspect, co-suspect, and concomitant products per client and regulatory standards.
- Draft clear and concise case narratives summarizing all relevant information.
Desired Candidate Profile
We are looking for individuals who possess a strong understanding of pharmacovigilance principles and a keen analytical mind.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- A solid understanding of the principles and concepts associated with the pharmacovigilance case-handling process.
- Strong cognitive abilities, including verbal reasoning, critical and analytical thinking, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of different therapy areas and medical terminology.
- Excellent comprehension skills to interpret complex medical information.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.
