Korikine Bio is seeking a highly skilled Molecular Biology and Protein Research Associate to join our cutting-edge biotech team. This role is crucial in designing, producing, and analyzing recombinant proteins to drive advancements in cytokine-based therapeutics.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in molecular biology with hands-on experience in protein expression and purification, particularly using AKTA chromatography systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and perform cloning of recombinant DNA constructs into expression vectors using advanced techniques like Gibson Assembly.
- Troubleshoot cloning processes and improve cloning efficiency.
- Express recombinant proteins in mammalian cells using transfection or other expression methods.
- Purify proteins using AKTA systems (affinity, ion exchange, size-exclusion chromatography).
- Analyze purified proteins with SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and other techniques to ensure quality.
- Work cross-functionally to meet project milestones and maintain accurate documentation.
Qualifications
- PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in molecular biology & protein biochemistry.
- Experience with AKTA chromatography systems and mammalian cell culture.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Experience with high-throughput protein purification techniques is a plus.
