The MSL will lead scientific engagement with external stakeholders, implement clinical and educational strategies, and respond to unsolicited medical inquiries to support Novartis’ mission of transforming clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
The MSL role is pivotal in fostering scientific partnerships and improving patient access. Key duties include:
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with field matrix colleagues to contribute to Patient Journey mapping, integrated evidence plans, and medical strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Map and engage external stakeholders, including Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), using personalized, multi-channel strategies.
- Data Insights: Identify data gaps and opportunities for real-world evidence (RWE), precision medicine, and improved patient outcomes.
- Scientific Communication: Share evidence-based data with stakeholders, respond to unsolicited inquiries, and support clinical trial activities.
- Innovative Partnerships: Contribute to healthcare system strengthening through innovative collaboration models.
- Compliance and Training: Adhere to Novartis SOPs, Ethics and Compliance policies, and complete administrative tasks like expense reporting.
- Medical Education: Lead high-impact scientific events and leverage digital channels for broader reach.
- Regulatory Support: Facilitate Managed Access Programs (MAPs) upon unsolicited requests and support regulatory responses.
Qualifications and Skills
We seek candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Education: Pharmacist, Master’s, or post-graduate degree in health/life sciences; PharmD, PhD, or MD preferred.
- Experience: 2-3 years in a medical function, preferably in a therapeutic area.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, research procedures, and pharmaceutical guidelines.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills; ability to work collaboratively in dynamic, field-based environments.
- Mindset: Curious, self-directed learner with a growth mindset and strong organizational skills.
- Digital Proficiency: Ability to leverage digital tools for stakeholder mapping and insights gathering.
- Integrity: Commitment to ethical practices and compliance with Novartis policies.
