Key Responsibilities
The Junior Bioinformatics Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the PGC’s research endeavors. The primary responsibilities include:
- Data Analysis Workflow Development: Assisting in the design and implementation of data analysis workflows for various research initiatives and custom bioinformatics services.
- Tool Evaluation and Benchmarking: Performing test runs and benchmarking of newly published bioinformatics tools to assess their suitability for adoption by the Facility.
- Scripting and Automation: Developing scripts and codes to enable the pipelining and automation of commonly used analysis workflows.
- Results Interpretation: Contributing to the interpretation and discussion of analysis results.
- Documentation and Communication: Assisting in writing technical reports, funding proposals, and manuscripts for potential publication.
- Other Duties: Performing other tasks as assigned by the Facility Director or PGC Executive Director.
Qualifications
