Job Description
Position Purpose
The Safety Team at PI Industries is tasked with the critical responsibility of implementing occupational and process safety measures across the company. This role not only involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations but also entails advising and assisting factory management in fulfilling their statutory and other obligations related to the prevention of injuries and the maintenance of a safe working environment.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Safety in the implementation of Health & Safety related aspects at the plant level.
- Plan for the implementation of health and safety management systems designed to prevent incidents and accidents.
- Develop and refine safety protocols to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety policies and procedures to enhance the overall safety culture within the organization.
Operational Responsibilities
- Issue work permits ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Advise concerned departments on planning and organizing necessary measures for effective control of personal injuries and accidents.
- Provide expert safety advice in job studies and conduct detailed job studies of selected roles to identify potential hazards.
- Participate in accident and incident investigation teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases to prevent recurrence.
- Form and advise the safety committee, acting as a catalyst for safety improvements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
- Advise on measures to eliminate unsafe physical conditions and prevent unsafe actions.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and the Factories Act.
- Conduct HAZOP studies and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) to verify the recommendations for all new products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement safety initiatives and improvements.
Financial Responsibilities
- Maintain the safety store expenditure within the approved budget.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives in the areas of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) without compromising on safety standards.
People Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of safety and high productivity at the workplace.
- Conduct comprehensive training and educational programs aimed at preventing injuries and promoting a safe working environment.
- Organize campaigns, competitions, contests, and other activities in collaboration with concerned departments to maintain and enhance worker interest in safety practices.
- Provide regular toolbox talks and safety briefings to ensure continuous safety awareness among all employees.
Education Qualification

Functional Competencies

- Capable of creating a pervasive safety awareness throughout the organization by delivering effective training sessions, toolbox talks, and through the implementation of OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Excellent written communication skills for preparing detailed Accident & Incident reports, safety guidelines, and training materials.
