Job Description
The Position
The Mechanical Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining injectable manufacturing equipment at Sanolet’s WHO-GMP certified facility in Ahmedabad. This position focuses on preventive and breakdown maintenance, ensuring GMP compliance, and supporting production and quality assurance teams during audits. The ideal candidate must have experience in dry powder injection plants and a strong background in the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance of injectable manufacturing equipment, including vial filling machines, dry powder filling machines, autoclaves, and sealing equipment.
- Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance of utility systems such as HVAC, compressed air, water systems, and boilers.
- Support validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and calibration activities for equipment to ensure compliance with cGMP standards.
- Ensure adherence to GMP and maintain accurate documentation (e.g., maintenance logs, SOPs, validation reports).
- Coordinate with production and QA teams during audits (e.g., USFDA, WHO) and inspections, ensuring inspection-readiness.
Qualifications
Education
Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Experience
5–8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a preference for candidates from injectable plants. Dry powder injection experience is mandatory. Proven experience in audits (e.g., USFDA, WHO-GMP) and documentation management is required.
Skills
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical equipment maintenance and utility systems. Familiarity with cGMP, SOPs, and validation protocols. Ability to troubleshoot and perform breakdown maintenance efficiently. Excellent coordination and communication skills for working with production and QA teams during audits.
