About the Protein Biology Team

The Protein Biology team focuses on large-scale functional validation of antibodies, emphasizing reagent quality and specificity. Core activities include:

  • Data mining and processing
  • Western blotting with state-of-the-art tools
  • High-efficiency immunofluorescence imaging
  • Immunohistochemistry, ChIP, and gene silencing
  • Creating high-quality product validation data for our antibody portfolio

Role & Responsibilities

As a Scientist II, Protein Biology, you will contribute to antibody validation workflows, ensuring reproducibility and market differentiation through innovative methods. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acquiring and applying knowledge of protein biology to deliver antibody validation and characterization results.
  • Conducting literature reviews to stay updated on antibody validation developments.
  • Performing antibody validation in a fast-paced environment, adhering to schedules and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Providing informal leadership to a team of scientists, offering technical and operational supervision in a matrix-style operation.
  • Mentoring and training junior scientists in research design, experimental execution, data interpretation, and presentation.
  • Driving conceptualization to develop successful protocols for complex biological targets.
  • Collaborating with supporting functions (product management, program management, business development) to meet program goals.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, or Biochemistry with 2-3 years of experience, OR
  • Master’s degree in a related field with 5-10 years of experience.

Skills

  • Extensive experience in cell and molecular biology, including design and development of protein assays, protein-protein interaction studies (e.g., co-immunoprecipitation), or immunoassays.
  • Proven expertise in Flow Cytometry and ELISA.
  • Working knowledge of Western Blotting and Immunofluorescence is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting research data and providing expert-level technical troubleshooting.
  • Experience in developing new protocols/methods and antibody development platforms is a plus.
