Job Description
The Position
The Production Block In-Charge (API) will oversee production operations at Granules’ Unit-V in Anakapalli, a facility focused on manufacturing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) like Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, and Metformin. This role requires leading a team, ensuring cGMP compliance, and driving operational efficiency in a USFDA-compliant environment known for its sustainability initiatives, including the use of carbon-free energy and green hydrogen derivatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee API production processes, including synthesis, purification, and drying for products like Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, and Metformin.
- Manage daily operations of the production block, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, USFDA, and ICH guidelines, maintaining inspection-readiness for regulatory audits.
- Lead a team of operators and technicians, providing training and ensuring SOP adherence.
- Implement process improvements to enhance yield, reduce waste, and support Granules’ sustainability goals (e.g., minimizing carbon footprint).
- Coordinate with QA, QC, and engineering teams to resolve production issues and support validation activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including batch manufacturing records (BMRs), logbooks, and deviation reports.
Qualifications
Education
B.Tech in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks from a recognized institution.
Experience
10–14 years of experience in Pharma API production, specifically in manufacturing APIs like Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, or Metformin. Candidates must have worked in USFDA-approved facilities with exposure to regulatory audits.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of API manufacturing processes, including reaction chemistry, crystallization, and filtration.
- Expertise in cGMP, SOPs, data integrity, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
- Proven leadership skills to manage production teams and drive operational excellence.
- Familiarity with process optimization and sustainability practices in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
