Job Description

Abbott is hiring a PV Specialist to act as back-up to the Affiliate Safety Representative (ASR) for pharmacovigilance activities. The role supports PV compliance for investigational and registered medicinal products under AHPL and AIL in India, plus neighboring countries (Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, and Sri Lanka).

This position serves as the local PV interface with health authorities and internal stakeholders, ensuring full compliance with Abbott policies and local regulatory requirements.

• Education/Qualification: Graduate in Life Sciences or Pharmacy (or equivalent)

Skills/Qualifications

• Understanding of local PV regulations in India and the region
• Strong attention to detail
• Computer literacy with Windows and MS Office

• Ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Knowledge of pharmacovigilance processes and quality management systems

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain Affiliate PV System Country Chapter and local procedures
• Handle receipt, recording, and reconciliation of safety information
• Perform safety surveillance, literature screening, and periodic safety reports
• Manage regulatory submissions of safety information
• Provide basic PV training to local EPD staff
• Ensure PV compliance in local studies and data collection schemes
• Coordinate PV audits, inspections, and non-compliance management
• Review local Prescribing Information and market research from PV perspective
• Maintain local PV product list and Pharmacovigilance System Sub File (PSSF)
• Support business continuity and out-of-office coverage for safety reports
• Ensure compliance for medical devices and food supplements as applicable
