Job Description
ICON plc is hiring a Pharmacovigilance Associate for its Drug Safety team in Chennai. This role focuses on Clinical Trial and Post Marketing Surveillance case processing, playing a critical part in ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance for pharmaceutical products.

- Experience: Minimum 2 years
- Education/Qualification: B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D, BDS, BSc. Nursing, MSc. Nursing, BAMS, BHMS
Skills/Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in pharmacovigilance with direct involvement in case processing
- Solid experience in Post Marketing Surveillance case processing
- Strong knowledge of seriousness, expectedness, causality assessment, and global reporting timelines
- Proficiency in MedDRA and WHO-DD coding
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to mentor new joiners and work with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with SDEA, KPI/SLA, reconciliation, and aggregate reporting (PSUR/DSUR)
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, assess, and process adverse event reports
- Perform case triage, book-in, and data entry in safety database
- Write accurate narratives and code events using MedDRA
- Apply product labeling and perform quality checks
- Manage safety inbox and generate follow-up queries
- Process literature ICSRs and ensure regulatory compliance
- Support aggregate reporting and reconciliation activities
- Mentor juniors and contribute to SOP reviews
